Japan-South Asia Network (JASAN) has decided to align its identification with the United Nations (UN) geoscheme for South Asia. According to the UN, South Asia comprises eight countries that share deep historical, cultural, and economic ties. As of today, JASAN includes the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
